A $6.8 million settlement has been reached in the class action lawsuit alleging racial discrimination against minority employees that were placed in stores in minority neighborhoods. The suit was filed on behalf of up to 5,000 black employees who worked for the company from 1994 to 1998 in 590 stores nationally, each of whom will receive a check ranging from $150 to $4,500. Money not claimed by eligible employees, will be distributed to those who have responded to mailings. (Sep-19-03) [EMAIL LAW FIRM] [ST. PETERSBURG TIMES]
