A settlement has been proposed in the class action lawsuit pending against Wal-Mart over allegations that hourly employees were forced to work off the clock or through their meal and rest breaks.
The proposed settlement would see $5 million paid into Wal-Mart employee retirement plans, in addition to their receiving between $66 million and $86 million. A court date of September 15 is scheduled for the final hearing.
The lawsuit involves employees in 30 states.
