A group of 26 Japanese former base workers filed a class action lawsuit against USFJ and their own government after allegedly contracting lung problems from repairing ships at Yokosuka Naval Base. USFJ has agreed to pay the men half of the total settlement awarded to them from the Japanese government, $1.77 million. (Aug-25-05)
