A class action lawsuit filed in 1999 against UnitedHealthcare, UnitedHealth Group and Coventry Health Care has been dismissed. The health insurers were accused of conspiring with several other insurers to defraud doctors throughout the U.S. The lawsuit claimed the insurers used claims processing software to delay, reduce and deny payments to hundreds of thousands of physicians. Over the last few years, several other insurers settled for hundreds of millions of dollars. (Jun-21-06)
