Residents from a predominantly African American neighborhood filed a class action lawsuit claiming they were exposed to a harmful toxic ash produced by municipal trash incinerators. Approximately 4,500 residents who were exposed to lead, arsenic, mercury, and other toxins will be included in the $75 million settlement; however their share will depend on length of exposure.
