U.S. Magistrate Dennis Hubel has granted approval to a settlement in the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of 69 mentally ill patients in Oregon. The suit alleged that the plaintiff's were receiving inadequate mental-health services. The state will now be required to spend $1.5 million to create 75 new spots in community programs for the plaintiffs. (Mar-10-04) [STATESMAN JOURNAL] [EMAIL OAC]
