Homeowners tried to file a class action lawsuit against the insurance provider for Hurricane Katrina damage claims. The lawsuit was seeking to have State Farm pay all homeowner claims in full where wind and water damage could not be separated. A U.S. District Judge has denied class action status to the insurance policyholders. State Farm argued that it should not be responsible for covering wind damage when water, which is excluded, was a contributing cause. (Aug-16-06)
