Honolulu, HI: A class action lawsuit was filed against the insurance provider for improperly using credit scores to set rates for Hawaii customers. The class included 1,396 State Farm policy members whose credit reports were misused; they claimed State Farm improperly used credit scores to set insurance rates, which violates Hawaii law. State Farm Insurance has set aside $1.2 million to settle the class action lawsuit. (Oct-25-06)
