Skybus Settlement Reached with Former Employees
Skybus has reached a settlement in the federal lawsuit brought by former employees of the company alleging improper notification of layoffs.Skybus employees sued the company on April 4, 2008, claiming that federal law requires a company to provide a minimum of 60 days notice in advance of mass layoffs. Skybus allegedly did not follow this law, during its planned layoffs of some 450 employees on April 7, 2008.
The amount of the settlement will be disclosed in a court filing.
