From September 10, 2000 to September 12, 2000 a devastating flood left more than 3,000 homeowners at a $25 million loss. The major storm left thousands of homeowners with sewage discharge damage. A class action lawsuit was filed claiming the floods damaged properties. Allen Park, Dearborn Heights, Ecorse, Inkster, Lincoln Park, Southgate, Taylor, Riverview and Wayne County have agreed to pay homeowners a $12.75 million class action settlement. The settlement has been approved by a U.S District Judge and owner will split $8.4 million to pay for lost property and cleanup costs. (Feb-22-06) [DETROIT NEWS]
