A $52 million settlement has tentatively been reached in nine class action lawsuits filed in California from 1999 to 2002, alleging that the company had misrepresented their high-speed Internet DSL service's speed, reliability, security and other features. Under the terms of settlement, subscribers from Oct. 28, 1996 through April 18, 2003 would receive up to two free months of Internet service. Customers with DSL billing issues can call 1-877-722-3755. Customers with dial-up billing issues can call 1-866-722-3425. (Sep-04-03) [BUSINESS JOURNAL] [EMAIL SBC]
