Charleston, SC: Customers tried to file a class action lawsuit against the water company over pinhole leaks that developed in copper pipes. The case was filed on behalf of more than 400 people whose home pipes developed leaks because of a chemical Santee Cooper added to the water to prevent the pipes from corroding or because of the water's pH level. Circuit Judge John Breeden Jr. ruled there was no basis for a class action and denied all claims. (Nov-14-06)
