A settlement has been reached and is pending court approval in the class action lawsuit filed in 1998 by shareholders against Rural/Metro Corporation. The suit was filed on behalf of investors who purchased common stock of the company between April 28, 1997 and June 11, 1998.In addition, a federal court judge has dismissed the purported class action lawsuit filed against the company in 2002 alleging violations of state and federal securities laws, breach of contract, and common law fraud.
