Carlsbad, CA: (Mar-19-07) A class action lawsuit against Rubio's Restaurant, accusing it of misclassifying some employees under California overtime laws, reached a settlement in which Rubio's agreed to pay $7.5 million payable over three installments. The restaurant did not admit to the allegations. The lawsuit is similar to numerous lawsuits filed against restaurant operators, retailers and others with operations in California.
