187 Michigan residents filed a class action suit against the pharmaceutical company and its production of Rezulin. Pfizer Inc. acquired Warner-Lambert in 2000, the same year the US FDA pulled Rezulin off the market for alleged association with liver failure. Pfizer had $900 million set aside for the anticipated liability but a New York Judge has dismissed the case. There is a Michigan state law that prohibits residents from suing FDA approved prescription drug companies. (Feb-25-05)
