A $1.5 million settlement has been reached and is pending approval in the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of 8,656 Minnesotans who switched to Qwest long-distance service between Sept. 1, 1998, and July 31, 1999. The suit alleged that the company had deceived consumers by failing to explain the limitations on the two free airline tickets they were offering to entice customers to switch to Qwest long-distance service.
