Nearly 200,000 Multnomah County residents filed a class action lawsuit against the utility regarding their practice of assessing its customers to pay the Multnomah County Business Income tax. The fee was assessed on Multnomah County accounts between 1999 and 2005. Portland General Electric has agreed to pay a $10 million class action settlement. Refunds will appear on PGE bills.
