San Francisco - A class action lawsuit was filed against PayPal, the online payments unit of EBay Inc., on behalf of customers. PayPal has agreed to improve how it notifies users of their consumer rights. PayPal has agreed to set up a settlement fund of $3.5 million and will shorten the user notice that customers agree to when signing up for services; it will also clarify buyer protections consumers have when conducting online financial transactions. I sold a laptop computer for the amount of $2000.00, the computer was worth $2700.00. After shipping the computer and being notified that it made it saftly to my buyer, over a month later the buyer requested a chargeback from thier credit card company. Paypal contacted me that day and asked me to send them any information they could use to dispute the claim. So I got all my paper work ready and go to their site the same day and the case was closed in favor of the buyer. Not only did they lie about inverstigating it but I am a seller with 100% feedback on ebay. Now ebay kicked me off and i am stuck with a dept that I can not pay. Paypal told me that I did not ship to a confermed address, but they did not provide one. They gather all the information from the buyer and send it to me so I can complete the transaction. I had to contact the buyer for there shipping information because ebay did not post it with thier credit card payment. I am a stay at home mom, not that I am out of my ebay sales I am aslo making much less income, resulting in financial loss for my family.
