Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

An $8.2 million verdict has been reached in the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of an estimated 20,874 motorists who, from 1993 to 1998, were twice charged a $250 reinstatement fee in order to get their licenses back. The Ohio Supreme Court ruled that the state improperly charged motorists two fees after their administrative and judicial license suspensions for drunken driving expired, and therefore must refund the money.
