A $650,000 settlement has been reached in the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of 20 people who were subjected to illegal and humiliating strip searches. The plaintiffs, who had only been charged with petty crimes, allege that the searches were a violation due to the fact that strip searches of prisoners charged with misdemeanors or violations, are illegal unless there is reasonable suspicion that the person under arrest is concealing a weapon or contraband.
