In 1992, nearly 8,600 former contract workers filed a class action lawsuit claiming they were denied benefits from the computer corporation. The 'permatemp' workers were hired during a growth spurt, but claim they were allegedly improperly restricted from the company stock purchase plan. In 2001, a $97 million class action settlement was approved and today, after legal fees, each class member is set to receive $8,429 on average. (Oct-03-05)
