Three women who were arrested during 2003 free trade protests filed a class action lawsuit against the county for being strip searched. U.S. District Judge Adalberto Jordan of Miami has awarded Judith Haney, Liat Mayer and Jamie Loughner a tentative settlement of $6 million. The lawsuit has since changed Miami's strip search policy to stop searches of people arrested for minor offenses. (Apr-19-05)

AT&T bills $110.00 for repair of line on side of house and then claims that the line would have been covered if I took out the inside wiring insurance for $5.95 per month. This is certainly a deceptive practice since the insurance sold is for inside wiring not wiring outside. Additionally AT&T charges a cost recovery fee of $1.25 per month and then adds an additonal .99 per month for BellSouth cost recovery fee. This should be considered as a possible class action lawsuit, due to the many customers that are being scammed unknowingly.
