New York, NY: (Apr-16-07) A class action lawsuit filed against Merrill Lynch by investors who suffered losses as a result of their purchase of stocks through Merrill Lynch, accused it of not verifying the correct value of the stocks by misleading investors into believing they were viable options. On March 30, 2006, Merrill Lynch agreed to settle claims relating to the Class Action for $125 million, though the settlement amount represents just a fraction of the market losses sustained on the securities at issue. Experts urged investors who sustained losses of $100,000 or more in their Merrill Lynch accounts to consider pursuing an individual securities arbitration claim as an alternate means to recovering their financial losses.
