A lawsuit seeking class action status was filed on April 22, 1999 against the leading Israeli digital cable television services provider. The lawsuit claimed Matav constituted a monopoly and adversely exploited its position in the market. The case alleged Matav damaged the general public by setting and collecting an unreasonable and unfair fee for its services. The Tel-Aviv-Jaffa District Court denied a motion to recognize the case as a class action and it was dismissed. (Feb-15-06)
