A group of Marlboro Lights smokers tried to file a class action lawsuit against the cigarette company alleging it violated state laws by misleading smokers into believing Marlboro Lights contained less tar and nicotine than full tar cigarettes when the company knew the cigarettes did not. An Oregon court has declined class action status to the plaintiffs. (Oct-14-05)
