Frankfurt - A class action lawsuit was filed against the airline for allegedly conspiring to fix prices of air cargo by coordinating surcharges for the increased costs of fuel, security and insurance related to the war in Iraq. Lufthansa was among nine airlines accused in US civil lawsuits of fixing prices in the $50 billion global air cargo market. Lufthansa has agreed to pay an $85 million class action settlement. Lufthansa, including Lufthansa Cargo and Swiss International Air Lines, would be released from the pending US civil class actions. (Sep-12-06)
