A settlement has been reached in the class action lawsuit filed against the Florida grocery chain Kash n' Karry. The suit was filed on behalf of female employees of the company who claimed that they were being paid less than men who were doing similar work. Under the terms of settlement, the women will receive a $3.1 million settlement, $500,000 of which will be distributed in the form of discount coupons and gift certificates redeemable at Kash n' Karry. The settlement will be distributed in various amounts based on length of employment to women who worked at Kash n' Karry since June 10, 1999, and completed the 90-day probationary period.
