Atlanta, GA: (May-21-07) A series of class action lawsuits were filed against Immucor Inc., a medical equipment manufacturing company and certain current and former directors and officers. The suits alleged that Immucor stock prices were inflated during part of 2004 and 2005 as a result of material misrepresentations or omissions in the company's financial statements and other public announcements. Though the company continued to deny any liability or wrongdoing and had vigorously defended the lawsuits, during a mediated settlement, the medical equipment maker agreed to the payment of $2.5 million to settle class action lawsuits against it. The settlement amount will be paid by the company's insurance carrier.
