Over 700,000 doctors filed a class action lawsuit claiming they were systematically cheated by the managed care company. The class alleged several managed care companies programmed computers to pay for less intensive services than were actually provided. Humana has spent more than $75 million to upgrade its claims process, including improved speed and accuracy. They have agreed to pay the physicians a $40 million class action settlement. (Oct-18-05)
