East Stroudsburg, PA: (May-23-07) Ex workers Traci Otto and John Junker filed a class action lawsuit, claiming they were cheated out of overtime pay, against Pocono Medical Center. The suit was filed in June 2006 in US Middle District Court of Pennsylvania. Pocono Medical Center has come to a settlement agreement which could cost $280,000. Under the terms of a settlement agreement, hundreds of employees who worked at the East Stroudsburg hospital or Pocono Health System between Feb. 1, 2005, and Feb. 1, 2007, are eligible for a piece of the settlement. How much they receive depends on how many workers file a claim. To qualify, they must complete a consent form. The deadline for returning them is July 18, 2007 for workers who were not covered by a collective bargaining agreement during that time. Last week, the hospital sent letters to workers that explained the settlement and contained the consent form. The settlement agreement was approved by US District Judge John E. Jones III.
