Pittsburgh, PA: (Feb-28-07) A class action lawsuit filed against Assucurazioni Generali by Holocaust survivors accused the Italian insurance company of refusing to honor insurance policies sold to the Holocaust era victims prior to and during the Holocaust. A settlement agreement was approved by US District Judge George Daniels and orders the insurance company to accept new claims until March 31, 2008. Generali has already paid an estimated $135 million to settle claims related to the class action.
