Heald College.
A $3.5 million settlement has been approved in the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of female instructors who taught between April 25, 1998, and the end of 2003. The suit alleged that the college was paying its male instructors more than their female peers, and that it had failed to adequately pay part-time teachers. (Feb-28-04) [CALIFORNIAN]

I attended Heald College back in 2008 and I graduated October 201I. I woud like to hear from anyone who knows how I could apply for the borrowers defense repayment. Heald has me as a student who dropped out when in fact I did graduate with the Class of 2011 in October. I lost my actual certificate while moving from one place to another. I dont know how I could prove that I completed the MA with an associates degree. Please anyone who can given me any tips. My student loan is accruing interests. I have had no success in landing a job because I was not certified or registered medical assistant. when I received my transcript it was incomplete.

In 2009 my daughter and I were in our last quarter to get our degree for coding and billing. We were both on the Deans List and Honor Roll for good grades and attendance. on May 18, 2009, my husband was killed. I informed the school that we would be out for a while, but would return the next quarter. When the time came to return, we were told that they had cancelled us, and turned us over to collection for not attending the classes. We were told we had to pay all our loans in full and request new loans before we would be allowed back in school. We not only lost 2 precious years going to that school but our credit has been totally ruined. My daughter has been paying hers back slowly and they threaten to attach her wages. She would lose her job of thirteen years if that were to happen. We are now in excess of $11,000 in debt each and no degree or job to show for it. It has made our lives so much more difficult than it should be. We were only trying to better ourselves and our situation. I hope they do right by the people they have hurt through their greed.

Former Heald student who also wasted 2 yrs of her life. Along with not having my degree recognized by any other school and cannot be transferred. Could not and still have not gotten been able to get a job in my field. As well as being pulled from class and missing parts of teachings when there was a discrepancy in fees. Holding students back from finishing classes or even graduating if all monies were not paid! Ridiculous teachers who didn't seem as they knew about the subject or was learning along with us.

I now have 2 fraud charges on me by the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy. I was so misinformed by the Director of Pharmacy and it just wasn't me . No advice from no one ever. All I heard from the President, and the director that took the first director"s place was oh just don't give up... As for the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy they had plenty of time to act when the school was open , but no months after the school closed then I received a certified letter stating I have counts of fraud charges .What happened to justice ? I was also informed that I can not take action on the state ? This is so unjust I did nothing wrong but listen to a man I was to trust .

Worthless degree that led to nowhere but debt. Ruined my life. I am shocked that I am not the only one out there and the scandal is being kept low profile!
