Guam - A class action lawsuit was filed on behalf nearly 4,000 government retirees alleging the Guam Government failed to pay retirees a cost-of-living allowance based on inflation, as required by a law that was in effect between 1988 and 1995. Guam Superior Court Judge Arthur Barcinas awarded the retirees about $60 million in delinquent cost-of-living payments. The average payment to retirees would be about $14,400. (Oct-05-06)
