African American tenants and the North Carolina Fair Housing Center filed a class action lawsuit against the property manager and owner of the private apartment complex in Greenville, NC. The lawsuit alleged the defendants racially harassed and intimidated black tenants. Renters also claimed their children were threatened, their homes were broken into and two residents were falsely arrested. The Committee for Civil Rights under Law represented six families living at Glendale Court Apartments and has been awarded a $265,000 settlement. (Mar-31-05)
