A $25 million settlement has been reached in the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of The Teachers' Retirement System of LA. According to the plaintiffs, the settlement will "ensure greater accountability to the shareholders of FirstEnergy and more rigorous oversight of the company's compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements."
