More than 100 Billings firefighters filed a class action lawsuit against the city. Firefighters work a 27 day schedule consisting of 24 hour shifts followed by several days off. They claimed they worked more than 40 hours a week, but were only paid for 40 hours. The city has agreed to pay $2,994,409 in back pay and an additional penalty of $235,000. (Nov-22-05)
