A $7.2 billion settlement has been reached by Enron to compensate shareholders whose stock became worthless during the company collapse. Lawyers representing the plaintiffs will receive $688 million.
The shareholder settlement is the largest securities settlement to date in the US.
In order to be eligible or a payout, shareholders must have purchased their Enron shares between September 9, 1997 and December 2, 2001.
