Twenty two farmers from New Jersey filed a class action lawsuit against the company for selling defective eggplant seeds. The farmers purchased Special HiBush Eggplant seeds that turned out discolored and misshaped, costing the industry $2.76 million dollars in lost profits. The Modesto Californian based company has agreed to pay the farmers a $1.55 million settlement. (Apr-01-05) [NEWSDAY]
