Durham - Nine school students tried to file a class action lawsuit against Durham County Public School alleging administrators unfairly suspended black students and labeled them gang members. The lawsuit claimed the school engaged in systematic discrimination and alleged there was a pattern of more drastic punishments against minorities, and that when suspended their appeals were not taken seriously. Superior Court Judge Orlando Hudson dismissed the case. (Sep-19-06)
