The class action alleged the company used a chemical for its nonstick Teflon that contaminated local drinking water in Ohio. DuPont denied wrongdoing but will award residents $107.6 million for damages. Another $10 million will go towards new treatment equipment to reduce PFOA in water supplies and $22.6 million will go towards the plaintiffs legal fees. (Feb-28-05)
