Medicare Beneficiaries to keep Low Cost Prescription Drug Benefits

A settlement has been reached in a lawsuit filed by the National Senior Citizens Law Center and the Center for Medicare Advocacy on behalf of 6.2 million Medicaid beneficiaries who claimed they were overcharged for prescription drugs because processing delays slowed their enrollment for subsidized Medicare prescription drug coverage.

The settlement will ensure that Medicaid beneficiaries can continue to purchase drugs at minimum cost after they become eligible for Medicare.
