In 1998, current and former employees filed a class action lawsuit against the state department regarding the application of Public Law 70 that prepared a classification system and salary schedule for professional employees. Class members included employees who worked for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources from July 1, 1996 through June 30, 2005. The state has agreed to pay a $3 million class action settlement to members of the class for retroactive wages. (Feb-07-06)
