San Francisco International Airport

Disability Advocacy groups filed a class action against the airport alleging violations of California state law and the Americans with Disabilities Act by failing to provide deaf and hard of hearing travelers full access to airport information. Under the terms of the settlement agreement, San Francisco International Airport has agreed to add 80 visual paging monitors to its domestic and international terminals that enable deaf passengers to access information from the public address system. The airport will also pay $20,000 to the Deaf Counseling, Advocacy and Referral Agency, $8,000 to the California Center for Law and the Deaf, and $12,000 to the case's original plaintiff, Colin Piotrowski.
