An $11.6 million settlement has been reached in the class action lawsuit filed by over 200,000 specialty health care providers and certain state and national associations. Class members can receive compensation based on the volume of claims submitted to CIGNA HealthCare since 1990. The health care providers covered by the settlement include chiropractors, psychologists, counselors, podiatrists, acupuncturists, optometrists, physical and occupational therapists, nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, nurse anesthetists, nutritionists, audiologists, speech and hearing therapists and others.
