A class action lawsuit was brought against the specialty chemical company involving the synthetic rubber ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM). The company settled the class action lawsuit by paying a $21 million settlement. Chemtura Corporation, the result of a merger between Crompton and Great Lakes Chemical, announced the sale of its EPDM business, along with other rubber chemicals businesses, to Lion Chemical Capital. The company also sold its remaining stake in the extruder maker Davis-Standard at the end of 2006. (Jan-31-07)
