A class action lawsuit was filed in the United States alleging the Japanese textile manufacturer produced defective bulletproof vests. Toyobo has agreed to a $29 million settlement to be awarded to plaintiffs who file claims and an additional $9 million awarded in attorney fees. The case involves approximately 150,000 bullet resistant vests. (Jul-13-05)
