Minneapolis, MN: (Mar-21-07) A class action lawsuit filed against BASF Corp. claimed the company fraudulently marketed the same herbicide as different products. POAST and POAST Plus were priced at different prices in order to obtain inflated prices for POAST from minor crop farmers, who grow sugar beets, sunflowers, potatoes, field beans, fruits, vegetables, and flowers. In a settlement reached with the Farmers' Common Fund, BASF agreed to pay $62.5 million to be reimbursed to the farmers who bought these products, ending the fraud lawsuit.
