A $2.1 million settlement has been reached in the securities class action lawsuit filed on behalf of all persons who purchased or acquired the common stock of Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. during the period from November 8, 1999, through July 25, 2001. A hearing to determine if the settlement should be approved will be held onj December 30, 2004. (Oct-20-04)
