A lawsuit has been filed and will seek class action status against the supermarket chain alleging employee age, gender, and racial discrimination. The lawsuit will be filed in Brevard Circuit Court on behalf of employees who have experienced discrimination at any Winn-Dixie location in the state of Florida since September 2004.
Dozens of employees say they have been passed over for promotions to younger employees and have been subject to racial and ethnic slurs. The suit claims Winn-Dixie management was systematically trying to force out older women and minorities.
