A lawsuit against Washington Mutual claims the company did not pay the federal minimum wage or overtime compensation to its loan consultants. If the loans the employees worked on were not approved, they may not have received payment for the hours worked. The lawsuit states the law does not allow employers to avoid paying overtime compensation to people who handle mortgages and loans on a commission basis.
